This week's class was very exciting since I was able to really begin to see my panel and how the colors would interact. My favorite part is grinding the glass, even though I sliced up 6 of my fingers I still enjoyed it. I can't wait to design my own panel. I am also continuing my lessons on WV stained glass with my classes. The pictures show a progression from before grinding to finished and starting to add the foil.
I love the colors together.
ReplyDeleteThe colors you chose make the panel feel so calming. You've done a nice job cutting and grinding. Sorry to hear the grinder has been eating your fingers though. I found wearing gloves helps protect my hands. The grinder may eat the gloves a bit but better the gloves than my fingers!
ReplyDeleteEmily, I like the way you show your progression from start to finish. We'll be sure to get some good photos of you soldering as well. And it sounds like you'll have a lot of "blood, sweat, and maybe tears" wrapped up in this project! ;-) It looks great so far, as Jennifer stated - love the color selection! I'm anxious to see you finish it up and see what you can produce for our class project!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, as far as progression - is great for illustrating the process for your students!
ReplyDeleteit looks great Emily! I knew yours would be very artistic! Terry Holley gave me a great tip before I chewed up all my fingers on the grinder! Duct tape!! I came out unscathed!
